Ireland's Western region is blessed with a geography that lends itself to inspiring creativity. It also provides the perfect backdrop to many exciting and challenging sporting activities. Alongside the golf courses, horse riding and superb walking trails in the region there is also world class surfing, triathalons, cycling clubs, hanggliding, windsurfing.
Our communities tend to be smaller and tightly knit with community activities often acting as a central hub around which people gather. Community spirit is alive and well in the Western region. Notable events include Kilkee's Hell of the West, the Connemarathon and the West of Ireland Marathon Series.
