Volunteer Advocates Wanted in Co Roscommon

Print

The National Advocacy Programme is looking for people who would like to become a volunteer advocate for older people in residential care.
Are you interested in working with older people, non-judgmental and a good listener and have about 3 hours to spare per week.  Then you could be the person we are looking for!

The National Advocacy Programme was set up in January 2009  to empower older people in residential care to effectively voice their needs and wishes, access their entitlements and assert their rights.

We will be asking our volunteers for a minimum commitment of two years. Volunteers must be willing to undergo training and Garda vetting.

We are currently recruiting for the County Roscommon area.  A public meeting will be held in the Sacred Heart Home on the golf links road in Roscommon town on Thursday the 12th of August for any body interested in participating in this initiative.
