Irish Medical Device Association (IMDA), a business sector within IBEC, honoured seven world-class medical device firms with prestigious awards at the third annual IMDA Industry Excellence Awards at Dromoland Castle, Co Clare. The Awards, hosted by the IMDA, Enterprise Ireland and the IDA, recognised the exemplar contributions of companies in the medical device industry to Ireland’s smart economy. Galway-based Crospon walked away with “Medical Technology Company of the Year 2009” for developing and commercialising the novel platform technology – EndoFLIP, a catheter-based imaging system used to diagnose patients who have gastroesophageal disease (GERD).
