Our research shows that most of the people who want to move to the West are under 35 years of age, so childcare will be important for many of them.  In many places rising costs and longer commute times can really limit childcare options. It’s different here in the West. The availability and cost of quality childcare is a huge benefit of living in the Region.
Average childcare costs outside of Dublin are €144 per week, compared to €192 per week in Dublin School places are readily available, as are childminders, crèches, playschools or Montessori.
People who have moved here from abroad often say that one of the primary reasons for their move was the availability of quality childcare and the freedom that children experience in the Western Region.
