Shannon Development is a dedicated regional economic development company.

The company's brief is to drive regional economic development in the Shannon Region across all areas of economic activity, working in partnership with the people of the Shannon Region, government, other public bodies and the private sector. The Shannon Region covers an area of some 10,000 square kilometres spanning counties Clare, Limerick, North Tipperary, South Offaly and North Kerry.

Shannon Development's goals are:

• Ensure that the more developed areas of the Shannon Region are enhanced to realise their full development.
• Ensure that the potential of the less developed areas of the Shannon Region is realised.
• Create demand for Shannon International Airport.
