There are three categories of Bio-energy focused on in the Western region under the RASLRES programme are:

  • Reed Canary GrassWood Energy
  • Reed Canary Grass
  • Seaweed (Kelp)

With an extensive Atlantic-facing coastline, suitable climatic conditions for growth, the Western region is well placed to lead the way in Bio-energy production in Ireland.
