![]() The IrelandXO (Ireland Reaching Out) pilot project was launched on 28th October last in Loughrea by broadcaster and economist David McWilliams and is officially sponsored and funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs. The IrelandXO programme will enable parish communities to reconnect with those who have left your area and their descendants worldwide, and bring social, cultural and economic benefit to the area of south-east Galway. Week of Welcomes: Galway June 26th - July 2ndThis summer come home for a wonderful week of welcomes! From June 26th - July 2nd 2011, the people of South East Galway are inviting Irish diaspora back for the chance to rediscover your roots. If you are from the area, head home this week to reconnect with the land and people of Galway. There are an endless amount of activities organised, all of which are destined to connect you to your past as well as provide great fun and laughter! All of the parishes of South East Galway are involved and excited to welcome and meet you and your loved ones. This really will be an unforgettable holiday experience.
