Now The Twelve has been given a prestigious Four Star classification by the AA and has achieved an AA Rosette for the imaginative cuisine at West Restaurant. The Twelve underwent a comprehensive process of inspection by the AA to be awarded an AA Four Star Hotel classification, achieving the necessary high standards of excellent facilities and service, and meeting with exacting AA requirements. “There is much to commend The Twelve,” said the AA Insepctors. “It is a hotel that is very contemporary in its styling, yet this is underpinned by sound standards of both hospitality and service. The team are all very focused on guest care, with a natural and friendly approach being demonstrated… Once you step inside you are met with a striking ambience and hip contemporary styling.” Since 1956, the AA have been awarding Rosettes for culinary excellence, awarded for the quality of a restaurant’s cooking. All Rosette-awarded restaurants demonstrate a use of fresh, quality ingredients with well-balanced flavours and a menu reflecting an obvious enthusiasm and commitment to promoting good food. The aim of the Rosette scheme is to provide AA Members, its guidebook readers and the general public reliable information about where to eat. West at The Twelve is one of just seven restaurants in County Galway with an AA Rosette, and the food was described in glowing terms by the AA Inspectors. “Great fresh seasonal food cooked simply with great flavour, interesting combinations. Featuring local organic and seasonal produce and fish landed in the area…The onsite bakery ensures that it (bread) is all freshly baked.
