It runs at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology and Institute of Technology, Sligo campuses and is designed for people who want to commercialise their knowledge or technology idea and take it to the next stage. Supported by Enterprise Ireland, Udáras na Gaeltachta, the County Enterprise Boards in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim and managed by WESTBIC, The CÉIM programme has already helped up to 70 companies in the North West to get off the ground. It’s a full time 12-month programme where entrepreneurs are surrounded by high-level business expertise in marketing, business development, patenting and product development. Facilitating new products and servicesOne of the things which makes CÉIM distinct is that it facilitates many new products and services. Previous participants came from the technology, engineering, food or medical industries. For example, Heinrich Anhold from Sligo is founder of Epona Biotech which won the title of Best Emerging Company of 2010 in the InterTradeIreland Seedcorn Competition. "CÉIM provided me with a place to learn about entrepreneurship and to share thoughts and ideas in the very early stages of my company. I learned from the instructors and mentors, but equally so from the other participants and course co-ordinators. I would recommend CÉIM to anybody starting out for the first time,” he said.
