2011 Western People West of Ireland Womens Mini Marathon

The 2011 ‘Western People West of Ireland Women’s Mini Marathon’ takes place on Sunday May 1st at 12 noon in Castlebar.

Last year, some 3,500 women took part in the first Western People West of Ireland Women’s Mini Marathon. They competed, they jogged and they walked … all for fun. But many charities benefited too, raising more than €500,000 for local causes.

This year even more people are expected to take part so don’t miss out on the second staging of the event. It takes place at 12 noon on Sunday, May 1, in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Enter online here or fill out an entry form in the Western People newspaper.

Closing date for entries is April 15. Late entries will not be accepted after this date. The entry fee is €20. The run is for fun — so we accept the “odd entry” from fellas as long as they enter into the spirit in fancy dress — and we also welcome the involvement of charities. So get moving now to avoid disappointment.
