Susan HayesTIME FOR SOME POSITIVE ECONOMICS?

A positive economist: it may sound like an oxymoron, but there is such a person! Susan Hayes, a.k.a. The Positive Economist, will be speaking at the Mayo CEB / Network Mayo International Women’s Day’ celebration, taking place in Knockranny House Hotel on the 8th March 2011 at 7.30 p.m

A regular contributor to RTE, Newstalk and Today FM, along with many national newspapers, Hayes is a specialist in all matters relating to economics, the stock market, banking, entrepreneurship and finance. ‘

This year’s International Women’s Day celebration has been organised by Mayo CEB, in association with Network Mayo [the organisation for women in business, the professions and the arts] and the event will resonate Networks’ theme for 2011 ‘Inspiring Innovation’. Network Mayo President, Olwen Dawe,  “Susan has chosen some key areas which she feels will provide tangible benefits for the audience – using examples of internationally successful women, from all sectors – and giving practical tips, quotes, anecdotes etc.  When we were settling on a speaker, it was clear to us that there needed to be real benefits to their content, and we’re absolutely certain that Susan will provide that”.

As well as her speaking and broadcasting work, Susan Hayes is Managing Director of Hayes Culleton Limited, and currently ‘Finance Trainer’ for Irish Times Training.  She gives many guest lectures and speeches on a varied range of subjects, from specific regulation, to developments in the economy, to her own investing experience.  In 2008, Susan wrote a module called ‘Introducing Wall Street to the Classroom’ designed to make the stock market approachable and accessible for second level students and their teachers.  Susan has personally mentored hundreds of people in financial markets on an individual basis as well as in group format.  Within her own portfolio, she favours Exchange Traded Funds, Value Stocks and Writing Options.
