Amy Hobby Dubliner Karl Geary writes and stars in this charming romantic comedy which follows the triumphs and tragedies of Billy Hayes as he gets out of jail and returns to Sligo where he finds his father (Tom Hickey) still selling bathroom fittings and his girlfriend, Bridget (Laura Fraser) a mechanic, engaged…and pregnant. Claiming to be a changed man, Billy has a sharp-witted plan to whisk Bridget away to an American dream: the promise of their very own gas station. Mapmaker – 7:00PM Dir Johnny Gogan A mapmaker (Brian O’Byrne) uncovers the body of an alleged informer while mapping a border beauty spot in Ireland. As local tensions are stirred by the discovery, the mapmaker realises that the completion of his map holds the key to the mystery of the man’s death. Swansong – 9.00PM Dir. Conor McDermottroe Newcomer Martin McCann gives a stellar performance as Occi Byrne in McDermottroe’s moving Swansong. Austin is consistently tested on his journey, but eventually learns the true power that comes with love, friendship and most of all, a sense of belonging.
