Work Placement Initiative in Co Clare

A twelve-week ‘Begin Again’ programme, being offered by the Irish Centre for Business Excellence (ICBE), has been initiated by the Labour Market Activation Fund operated by the Department of Education and Skills. It will facilitate work experience placements in Co Clare-based companies.
At the core of this programme is work experience. Companies can take on an experienced and qualified individual who has been unemployed (for at least 3 months) for work placement experience for 12 weeks. The individual placed in the company retains all Social Welfare benefits while gaining valuable experience and furthering his/her networking activities. To ensure both the company and the individual maximise this opportunity both mentoring support and training will be provided. It’s a win-win for both the business and the unemployed individual.
Business owners and unemployed people (on the Live Register for at least 3 months), can learn more about this programme at a free information briefing, on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 11am–12noon in the Oakwood Arms, Shannon, or contact Paula Crowley on Tel: 091-755736 / email:
