Enterprise Award entrepreneurNiall O' Connor, has found time away from a hectic final year college schedule to enter a Enterprise Award run by NUI Galway's Student Union. Niall, from Caltragh in Sligo, is an MSC student in Enterprise Systems and has been selected as one of eight finalists vying to clinch the top prize of €10,000.

The competition aims to give budding entrepreneurs experience in planning and developing their business ideas; mainly through research, looking at different products on the market, compiling a suitable business proposal and presenting their ideas to the judging panel.

"My project, Sonorplex, basically provides an interactive service at conferences and events by assisting delegates to access information at events, participate as users, store information, and keep track on what information they want to view post- event," Niall explained. Niall got assistance through a Cèim programme run by IT Sligo's Innovation Centre, as well as engaging in help from mentors and advisors. "I have experience in the area of audio and visual technical development for broadcasting, which is a help," he maintains.

The overall winner will be announced on March 28th.
