Tribe, A Portrait of Galway

Tribe A portrait of galwayLooking at the news and TV it seems as though Ireland is a country that is sinking. All the coverage is about people that are leaving. We are losing people at a terrific rate.

However, the night is always darkest before the dawn. A new upcoming book, Tribe, A Portrait of Galway is all about the people who contribute to the character of one of Ireland's most popular counties, Galway.

Galway is unique, it is the diversity of people that make the county what it is. It opened the first theatre outside Dublin in the 70's ( Druid - Garry Hynes is in the book). It created Macnas (they're in there) and the Galway Arts Festival (they're in there too). There are also many people who, though they could live anywhere choose to live here.

For the last 12 months, Galway photographer, Reg Gordon has dedicated himself into this project. However, to have this project come to its natural conclusion, sponsorship is needed. €6,000 needs to be raised to get this masterpiece over the line.

If you are interested in supporting this project  click here to give sponsorship.

The book will be printed locally so the money will be going back into the community.
