Suck Valley Walk

The Suck Valley Way on the border of West Roscommon and East Galway, incorporating part of the O' Sullivan Beara Trail, offers walkers an opportunity to experience the beauty, peace and tranquillity of the oval shaped walk.

The walk will take place on 2nd October, starting at 9.30am, meeting in the Ballintubber Church Car park, Co Roscommon. The route offers attractive and varied countryside and passes over hillsides, through forest, woodlands, bogland and along the banks of the River Suck and its many lakes and through open countryside. There is a wide range of historical and archeological sites en route, including a unique La Téne Stone dating back to the Iron Age. For naturalist and wildlife enthusiasts it is a real heaven, offering a rich variety of flora and fauna.


Take time out and meet and talk with the local people in the many villages and small towns along the route.
The walk takes in numerous small towns and villages, while still retaining a rural feeling. 7 miles is the total distance of the walk.


A free coach will transport walkers to the start of the walk Book your seat early if you require lift.Refreshments available at end of Walk in local pub.
