A significant event for small and medium businesses considering doing business in Europe is taking place in Knockranny House Hotel, Westport on Saturday 1st October. Entitled “SMEs Doing Business in Europe”, it is co-hosted by Network Mayo and the European Parliament's Information Office in Ireland. At this time of economic challenge it is more vital than ever for SME’s to learn how to expand into European markets. “SMEs Doing Business in Europe” will meet this challenge in an informative and interesting way. Participants will hear a number of success stories from entrepreneurs detailing how they expanded & grew their business into new markets and are now effectively doing business in Europe. These speakers are successful SMEs, Anne Butterly, Easy Dry (Louth), Aisling Roche, Achill Island Turbot (Mayo), Adrian Devanne, Babog Baby (Galway), and Bernie Butler, Good4U (Sligo). The opening welcome will be given by Olwen Dawe, President Network Mayo and the introductory speech by Francis Jacobs, Head of Office, European Parliament Information Office Ireland. Caoimhe Delaney, Development Manager, The Irish Exporters’ Association will be in attendance to advise on their top recommendations & supports for SMEs exporting within Europe.
