There will be a number of trad session held across the West of Ireland from the 22nd -28th September, to raise money for Trócaire's projects worldwide.

Last year over 400 sessions took place across Ireland and beyond, with support from Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.This year Trocaire and Comhaltas are hoping even more people will 'raise the roof and raise funds'.

Trócaire works in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, delivering their support through local partner organisations, helping communities and families to free themselves from the oppression of poverty.

Below are some of the Trad events due to take place across the West of Ireland;

  • Saturday 24th September @ The Brewery Bar, Abbey Street, Ennis.
    Midday to Midnight with/ Tony Linnane, Brid O’Donoghue and family, Kevin Crawford(Lúnasa), John Doyle, Siobhan Peoples, John Rynne, PJ King, Socks in the Frying Pan, Mick Conneely, Murty Ryan, Shane Mulvey, Edel Fox, Liam Murphy, Tigh na Coille, Jim O’Connor, Martin Breen, Fergal Breen, Francis Cunningham plus many more.
  • Sunday 25th @ Tigh Cóilí’s, Mainguard Street, Galway.Midday to Midnight with/ Mick Conneely, Brian McGrath, Johnny ‘Ringo’ McDonnagh (all from De Dannan) Sean Smyth (Lúnasa), Máirtín O’Connor,  Pat & Anne Marie Borderick, Paul Bradley, Mary McPartlan, Johnny O’Halloran, Nick Power, Gerry Whelan, Michael McGettrick.
  • On February 25th in Barry’s of Grange Co Sligo from 8pm till late, Steve Wickham will be hosting a Trad night with internationally renowned NoCrows, Multi-instrumentalist and Concertina supremo, Rodney Lancashire, Mayo Box player James Wickham, Collette Sheerin, a fine flute player from Co Offaly. The mighty Kieran Quinn on Piano and a host of other special guests.
