65 new jobs are to be created in Co Galway, Richard Bruton announced yesterday.
A medical devices company in Gort, Co Galway, is to create 35 new jobs. The IDA-supported investment will bring the workforce at CareFusion to 130. The Gort site is a manufacturing centre of excellence for diagnostic and monitoring medical equipment used in the diagnosis of human neurological, vascular and respiratory disorders, which are distributed to over 70 countries worldwide. The new positions will be across all areas of the business from production, quality and manufacturing engineering and supply chain.
Sean Langan, managing director, CareFusion Ireland, said the jobs were being created due to “the excellent performance, and ongoing success of the site, the high calibre of our staff in Gort, our commitment to continuous improvement and the support of IDA Ireland”. Meanwhile, 30 extra positions are to be created at the Valeo plant in Tuam, Co Galway. Valeo designs and manufactures multi-camera systems for the automotive industry.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Richard Bruton made the announcement this afternoon.
