23rd Earagail Arts Festival swings into life

Earagail arts festA feast of fun is under way at the 23rd Earagail Art Festival which kicked off last weekend and will run until the 24th of July. 

The Earagail Arts Festival is now established as one of the leading Irish arts and culture events and this year they will host an amazing array of artistic diversity in right across the county.

Over the last two decades they have brought some of the greatest internationally recognised artists and companies in music, theatre, visual arts, literature and outdoor spectacle to the county.

A stellar music line-up features the best in home grown talent as well as some top class international acts ranging from “T with The Maggies” - featuring Moya Brennan, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill and Mairéad Ní Dhomhnaill, as well as Jaipur Maharaja Brass Band, Breathe Owl Breathe, Orchestre Poly Rhytmo de Cotonou, Fidil & Solo Cissoko, Carmen Souza Quartet, The Selector, Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhride, Lisa Hannigan, and Sondorgo.

They are also hosting the ever popular “drive in” movie screenings in Ards forest park as well as innovative theatre, street arts and circus in gardens, parks and state of the art venues. These include performances from Little John Nee, the Prodigal Theatre, and An Grianan Theatre presenting “Rediscovering Friel”, taking a look some of the of the less recognised works of famous playwright Brian Friel.

There will also be the hugely popular carnival parade on the main street. Then over the next two weeks there are nightly events all over the county with something for everyone.
