Capture a Sligo Summer Moment

The Western Development Commission (WDC) are delighted to announce the short-listed entrants of the ‘Capture a Sligo Summer Moment’ photography competition. Over 500 entries were submitted during the month of July and the shortlist was finally whittled down by judges over the past week.

As expected, entries to the competition were filled with the awe-inspiring landscapes, surf-scapes, festivals, gigs and summer fun-filled shots of Sligo town and county.,

Successful short-listed entrants include Eddie Johnston, Frank Fortune, Dennis Burke, John Paul Tiernan, Dan Leydon, Radka Bartova, Aine McDaid, Val Robus and Darek Novak.  The short-listed entries are currently on view at the recently opened ‘Capture Gallery’, the place for fine art photography situated on Market Street, Sligo.

Voting Details

The public are now asked to vote for their favourite image by visiting Capture Gallery and vote using an in-store touch-screen or online by logging onto LookWest.ie.

The overall prize is a netbook from local broadband provider, Fastcom Broadband.
