Ennistymon Enterprise Centre

Recently, there has been a welcome addition to the lively north Clare town of Ennistymon – a purpose built Enterprise Centre has opened for business.  Centered on the 1588-vintage O’Brien castle, the North Clare market town of Ennistymon is the ideal location for both business and pleasure.  For the business person Ennistymon offers all the services that are required to operate a successful business whilst benefiting from an excellent quality of life.  Its location close to some of the most famous natural attractions in Europe (the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher) make it the ideal base for exploring the natural and historical riches of the West of Ireland and of course, the seaside towns of Lahinch and Spanish Point are a stones throw away.  By six o’clock one could be starting a walk on one of the many trails in The Burren or heading into the sea, surf board in tow!  Either beat sitting in traffic!

The 880 sq metre (9000 sq ft) enterprise centre consists of ten 60 sq m (600 sq ft) units, one 120 sq m (1200 sq ft) unit, and a central administration core with communal space.  The units have services which include three phase power, electrically operated insulated shutter doors, broadband ready for connection and toilets.  A unique feature of the centre is the communal area where tenants can meet informally and share business knowledge. The communal area includes such facilities as a kitchen and dining area, meeting room and use of office equipment all at the tenant’s disposal. Networking amongst the companies based in the centre is encouraged and is recognised as a very valuable sales tool, particularly in the current economic climate.  The concept of the Enterprise Centre, which is supported by Enterprise Ireland and Clare County Enterprise Board, is to provide an environment where businesses will be given every opportunity to help them to succeed and flourish.

The units are suitable for a variety of uses.  There are currently a number of tenants, HR Interventions, RMK Welding and ACIST Skillnet.  HR Interventions www.interventions.ie is a Human Resources and Web Services Company that provide HR supports to Businesses, Psychometric Profiles. RMK Welding specialises in gates & railings, general metal fabrication and stainless & aluminium Tig welding.  The ACIST Skillnet (www.skillsacist.com) is a training and networking company that has over one hundred company members in the Clare, Galway and extended Midwest region.  The units in the centre are suitable for offices, light industrial activities and warehouses.

The Enterprise Centre is the result of years of hard work by the voluntary community development group, Project Ennistymon. The organisation was set up by a group of local people, both residents and business people, who recognised the needs of the community and the latent potential of the town. They recognised that lack of available enterprise space was hindering the development of the town and undertook the challenge of addressing this difficulty.

For the business person Ennistymon offers all the services that are required to operate a successful business whilst benefiting from an excellent quality of life.  Its proximity to Shannon International Airport (40 mins drive) and the availability of broadband ensure that the global business community is within easy reach.

Ennistymon has several primary schools and four second level schools.  It has a regional county council office and council and a day care hospital unit.

Whether you have an existing business looking to relocate or if you wish to start your own business these units and Ennistymon provide an excellent environment from which to operate.

Requests for application forms or any other information can be made to the centre manager, Sharon Malone, on 065 707 2999 or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
