LookWest Upstarts is our new series of case studies profiling some of the West's latest and greatest entrepreneurs who have gone out there and done it for themselves.

  • Bábógbaby was founded by Adrian Devane after moving back to Galway following 13 years in film and television production in Dublin.  Bábógbaby's BB Bear, voiced by Adrian's three-year old daughter Robyn, teaches toddlers and children 33 words of Irish, while the company's other products include a Bábógbaby smartphone app.  Adrian tells us how he Looked West and found a new career. >> More here
  • Luke Saunders launched Studyclix.ie, a web start-up company, based in IT Sligo's Innovation Centre in 2012.  Originally from Dublin, Luke originally studied zoology then with stints working as a creative in an advertising agency, a labourer on a building site, and a door-to-door salesman in Australia, he finally settled into a career as a secondary school teacher in Enniscrone, County Sligo. >> More here
  • Paul Harmon founded Electric Escapes in 2010, an electric bicycle tour start-up company, based in Westport, Co Mayo. Originally from East London, Paul is an experienced traveller with stints working as a Sales Manger in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, two round the world trips, five years in Dublin in the construction industry finally settling in Westport, County Mayo. >> More here
  • Michelle Fallon founder of Michelle Made This, a craft and design start-up company, based in Roscommon.  A self confessed craftaholic, Michelle lived and worked as an IT Trainer in London and New York for over 16 years before returning to Ireland to follow her dreams. >> More here
  • Eamonn Toland founder of Themathstutor.ie, Ireland’s leading online support system for Project Maths students. Originally from Carndonagh, Co Donegal, Eamonn studied Physics, Maths and Computers with stints working as a data analyst in the market research industry, before moving into software development in Belgium and the UK before returning to Ireland in 2007 with his wife and 3 young children and settling in Co Mayo. >> More here
