A strong educational infrastructure at both second and third level ensures a top quality labour base with qualified, skilled graduates in a range of disciplines from IT Sligo, St. Angela’s College and other nearby third level institutes. Institute of Technology Sligo is developing a Business Incubation and Research Centre to augment its highly successful Business Innovation Centre, where support for new and developing micro enterprises is provided.

County Sligo is spectacularly located between mountains, lake and sea and its beauty has inspired writers, artists and musicians. The Lake Isle of Innishfree and Ben Bulben have been immortalised by the most renowned of these, poet WB Yeats. Sligo continues to enjoy a rich cultural life based on literature, theatre and all kinds of music and art. Ambitious plans for Sligo’s Cultural Quarter are well underway and include a new museum and the refurbishment and extension of the Model Arts & Niland Gallery.
