County Leitrim with its beautiful countryside, mountains, lakes and rivers is a mostly inland county with the exception of Atlantic coastline at Tullaghan which is very popular with surfers. The Shannon Erne Waterway, Europe’s longest inland navigable waterway, stretches through the county.

County Leitrim is renowned for its creative energetic spirit, with many people relocating to Leitrim to establish a business and enjoy the great quality of life it has to offer. Leitrim is epitomised by its dynamic county town, Carrick-on-Shannon whose setting, location, flourishing economy and active social scene make it one of the most sought after locations in the West.

Leitrim has created new jobs in key sectors such as International Services, medical device, engineering, manufacturing, professional services & public services (Dept Social & Family Affairs and Central Fisheries Board accounting for almost 200 jobs). Leitrim’s retail and service sector has also expanded providing an ever growing level of choice for people.

In County Leitrim we have everything a business setting up in the county could wish for. A readily available young highly educated workforce, an excellent network of support agencies for new and expanding enterprises, an ample supply of industrial and commercial space throughout the County at significantly lower costs than Dublin and the East coast, availability of Fibre Based Broadband in the main towns and wireless broadband services in rural areas. In addition, there is an innovative Third Level facility which brings in courses from a range of colleges to meet the needs of employers as well as being in close proximity to Sligo IT, Athlone IT and Fermanagh College.
